Context
A cosmetics manufacturer has 4,700 empty 400 ml bottles, split across two references.
The objective is to bring these two references together under a new, single commercial reference.
However, the required changes differ:
On 4,000 bottles, certain codes and ingredient list information need to be corrected.
On the remaining 700 bottles, the codes also need to be updated and missing translations added.
All these changes concern the back of the bottles.
The challenge: update the information without unnecessarily altering the existing design.
The OVERPRINT approach: a label that blends seamlessly with the design
The proposed solution involves covering the affected text area with an adhesive label displaying the updated information.
But one challenge remains: how can we prevent the added label from standing out too much against the original design?
This is where colour matching comes into play.
Rather than using a standard-colour label, OVERPRINT works to find a shade that closely matches the colour of the bottle.
The objective is simple: to ensure that the label blends as naturally as possible into the existing design.
The updated information is therefore brought together within a dedicated covering area adapted to each reference, without requiring the entire packaging to be redesigned or replaced.
